De mysterieuze zaak van Alice in Wonderland uitrollen.
Geen wonder dat je Alice in Wonderland keer op keer hebt gelezen of bekeken. Het is een mooi verhaal. Is het niet? We stonden onze hele jeugd voor een dilemma of we verliefd op haar waren of haar benijdden vanwege haar avonturen in Wonderland en toen groeiden we op. We verkenden het leven. We verkenden wonderland.
Het is een verhaal van een meisje dat een sprekend konijn door het konijnenhol achtervolgt en in de mystieke wereld genaamd Wonderland belandt. Gezien het feit dat kinderverhalen vol fantasie zitten, is het absoluut een van de meesterwerken die ooit zijn gemaakt. Dat gezegd hebbende, toen volwassen geesten de punten begonnen te verbinden tussen de mysteries en mythische personages, konden de psychedelische ondertonen niet worden genegeerd. De psychedelische band Jefferson Airplane uit de jaren 60 hintte ernaar in hun nummer uit 1967
"Wit konijn":
En als je konijnen gaat achtervolgen, en je weet dat je gaat vallen
Vertel ze dat een waterpijprokende rups je heeft gebeld
En bel Alice, toen ze nog maar klein was
Als de mannen op het schaakbord opstaan en je vertellen waar je heen moet
En je hebt net een soort paddenstoel gegeten, en je geest gaat naar beneden
Deze theorieën werden ook als zeer geloofwaardig beschouwd omdat ze werden geschreven in een tijd waarin drugsgebruik wijdverbreid was, niet echt omdat Caroll zelf onder invloed was. Vermeldingen in zijn dagboeken rechtvaardigden echter dat hij af en toe van een glas wijn genoot en dat hij waarschijnlijk Laudanum in zijn lichaam had ingenomen en mogelijk ook opiaat-geïnfundeerd materiaal had toegediend. Hoewel het er niet op wijst dat hij psychedelica gebruikte in zijn persoonlijke dagboeken en dat Adventures of Alice werd geïnspireerd door hallucinogenen.
Ondanks grote afkeuring en tegenstrijdigheden geloven verschillende experts en artiesten nog steeds in de psychedelische vertolkingen van deze klassieker. Verschillende liedjes, artikelen, theorieën en campagnes voor en tegen het geloof hebben de jaren en decennia tot op de dag van vandaag weten te overleven.
We zullen zeker graag jouw versie van Alice in Wonderland leren kennen. Hoe gek of psychedelisch het ook is, we zullen zeker graag je vertolking horen.
